2. xAI reportedly secures $0.5B out of $1B round, but Elon denies it
At $15B - $20B valuation, xAI would be the 2nd or 3rd highest-valued generative AI startup:
xAI filed with the SEC in December that it was seeking to raise up to $1B.
The slow time to raise (for someone like Elon) is likely due to the multi-billion valuation for a startup with near-0 revenue.
Elon simply called it βfake news from Bloomberg,β without elaborating
